Child Sexual Abuse and Exploitation: Awareness & Prevention
Child sexual abuse and exploitation are serious issues affecting children across all communities. Monytize Inc is committed to raising awareness and equipping families with the knowledge to recognize, prevent, and respond to these threats.
What is Child Sexual Abuse?
Child sexual abuse involves any sexual activity with a child, including touching, exploitation, or exposure to inappropriate content.
It may occur in person or online and is often perpetrated by someone the child knows and trusts.
Warning Signs in Children:
– Sudden behavioral changes or regression
– Fear of certain people or places
– Inappropriate sexual knowledge or behavior for age
– Withdrawal, depression, or anxiety
How Parents Can Help:
– Open Communication: Encourage your child to speak freely about their feelings and experiences.
– Monitor Online Activity: Be aware of the apps and websites your child uses.
– Set Boundaries: Teach children body autonomy and the concept of safe vs. unsafe touch.
– Believe and Support: Always take disclosures seriously and provide emotional support.
Empowering Children:
– Use age-appropriate language to teach about privacy and consent.
– Reinforce that secrets about touching are never okay.
– Encourage children to trust their instincts and seek help when uncomfortable.
If you suspect abuse, contact local authorities or child protective services immediately. Early intervention can save lives.
Together, we can create a safer world for our children.
